Paria Farzaneh graduated from Ravensbourne in 2016 and launched her first collection in 2017.
Since the beginning, Paria's Iranian heritage has been of large influence to her collection.
Paria manages to find a beautiful synergy between these traditional patterns and materials, and transitions them effortlessly into daily uniform more suited to the environment, here in the UK, that she grew up in.
As introduction to her first collection, Paria staged a bold guerrilla style presentation outside LFWM's 180 Strand Location. It was met with huge acclaim, and gained a wide range of press from I-d, Hypebeast and Vogue, where it featured on their homepage.
For AW18, Converse approached Paria to collaborate on an event which allowed her to merge these references into a shoe steeped in popular culture. Hand sewn, and meticulously executed the shoe left customers desperate for more and intrigued as to what may be in store next.
The AW18 Ready to Wear collection ‘'We were all here at once'' celebrated Iranian work wear over the past 20 years, from Military Man to office worker.
A traditional Iranian restaurant in West London provided a perfect backdrop and lead viewers into an immersive experience combining scents, sounds and visuals more synonymous with the Far East than London's Queensway.
From here, a whirlwind of press was to follow with features from Vogue, Dazed and Confused, Hypebeast, Pause and even a ‘'meet the designer'' segment for ShowStudio.
For SS19 Paria is sponsored by The British Fashion Council's NEWGEN program and is currently stocked in a variety of stores such as GR8 Tokyo, 424 LA, Smets Luxembourg and LNCC London.
